Welcome to Spirometry Learning

Spirometry is recommended by national and international guidelines as an indispensable tool to aid the diagnosis and monitoring of chronic airways disease.

Spirometry Learning Australia’s (SLA) suite of educational and training resources provide comprehensive spirometry training for health professionals who either wish to increase their knowledge about spirometry or wish to achieve competency in point-of-care (POC) spirometry testing.

All SLA courses and resources are compliant with Australian & New Zealand Society of Respiratory Science (ANZSRS), Thoracic Society of Australia & New Zealand (TSANZ) and American Thoracic Society & European Respiratory Society (ATS/ERS) spirometry testing standards.

SL – Competency Assessment course *incorporating Practical Skills Workshop & Spirometry Assessment Tool

The Spirometry Learning – Competency Assessment course (SL-CA) provides health professionals who regularly conduct spirometry in their workplace with the expertise, practical skills and confidence necessary to obtain quality assured POC spirometry measurements and reliably interpret test results.

The SL-CA incorporates the Spirometry Education for Health Professionals resources, attendance at a Practical Skills Workshop and access to the Spirometry Assessment Tool.

SL – Spirometry Education for Health Professionals

The Spirometry Learning – Spirometry Education for Health Professionals (SL-SEHP) provides theoretical knowledge and education to health professionals who conduct spirometry or for those whose role is to supervise and interpret spirometry in their workplace.

*For those participants registered in the SL – Competency Assessment course, online access to the Spirometry Education for Health Professionals resources is included in the course content.

SL – Spirometry Assessment Tool

The Spirometry Learning – Spirometry Assessment Tool (SL-SAT) is designed for health professionals to self-assess spirometry tests conducted in their workplace and submit them for review and feedback by an experienced respiratory scientist.

*For those participants registered in the SL-Competency Assessment course, online access to the Spirometry Assessment Tool is included in the course content.   

Fee: $65 *or $165 with review
